This week on Wednesday we had the pleasure of hosting a visitor from our donor, the Segal Family Foundation. Miss Carolyn Kandusi Program Coordinator from the Segal family foundation based in Tanzania joined us for a field visit and spoke with our beneficiaries on how our projects impacts them.
We went to four different schools out of the 90 schools we work with in the Iringa region. Two of the schools we visited were Miyomboni Secondary School and Kalenga Primary School. At these schools, where our Water in School project serves our students our main goal in our Water in Schools project is to improve Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services in schools which will help school children to practice proper hand washing and access clean drinking water at school.
Additionally, we explored the Safe Pad Lab project’s impact at Ipogoro Secondary School and Lundamatwe Secondary School how students both boys and girls are dedicated and empowered by Afyaplus with skills and resources on producing reusable sanitary pads which contribute to the fight against period poverty, allowing girls to navigate their periods with ease, safety, and improved health and wellness. We believe that all students should have the opportunity to learn and grow without any worries.
Afyaplus team we are so grateful for the Segal family foundation visit and thank you for your valued partnership in helping us to grow and spread our mission to communities. Your presence energizes us to continue making a difference. Welcome back anytime! Our story is about prevention
