Dr. Hussein Lujuo Mohamed

Dr. Hussein L. Mohamed is a Professor at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and serves as the chair of the Afyaplus Board in Tanzania. With over a decade of experience in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), climate change, and public and environmental health, he is an accomplished Researcher and Consultant who provides technical expertise to the government and UN Agencies. He is currently serving as a country technical advisor in a Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project through UNDP on Healthcare Waste Management, implemented by the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children. Dr. H Mohamed has also provided consultancy services to various UN organizations, including UNICEF, WaterAid, UNDP, KOICA, and Plan International. He is a member of the ongoing project Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS) Programme in Africa: Building Resilience in Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Food Security, and Health through Climate Services, funded by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and WHO.
