Safe Pad Lab Project

Afyaplus Organization participated in National torch ceremony in Iringa DC

On May 3rd, Afyaplus Organization participated National torch ceremony held at Ugwachanya village in Iringa District Council.During the ceremony we had a chance to share our works and the Village Savings Groups (VSLAs) established through IMPROVE 100 Project. Group members were trained on mindset growth session, entrepreneurship, personal finance management, nutrition, and sexual reproductive health and rights education. Through this ceremony VSLA Groups had the opportunity to showcase their products and demonstrate how they are working towards eradicating poverty. The celebration was attended by the national torch leader and government officials.
Through the Safe pad lab project  Afyaplus works to break the silence attached to menstruation by raising awareness about good Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), and empowering students to produce their own reusable sanitary pads for better menstrual management. The theme of this year was 
“Menstruation is a fundamental and essential aspect of health for girls and women.#Let‘sEmpower” and the guest of honor was the Deputy Minister for Health Dr. Godwin Mollel (MP).

Furthermore, Afyaplus in collaboration with Iringa District Child Desk Coordinator, Miss Stella Mosha managed to award certificate to beneficiaries and members of  Hekima Group from Wenda village  who have successfully completed the training program for of IMPROVE 100 Cohort 3.
