PARTICIPATING ANNUAL NGO’s MEETING FORUM

In August 2024, Afyaplus had the privilege of participating in two important forums aimed at shaping the future of the non-governmental sector. These forums brought together organizations dedicated to community development, good governance, and collaborative solutions for shared challenges. Afyaplus was represented by the Project Manager, Project Officer, and Finance Officer, highlighting the organization’s commitment to advancing impactful community projects.

The first event was the Iringa District-Level Annual NGO Forum, held at the Siasa na Kilimo Hall, where NGOs gathered to discuss pressing challenges and opportunities. This forum, which focused on the theme Non-governmental organizations are vital stakeholders in strengthening good governance.  was honored by the presence of Iringa District Commissioner, Hon. Kheri James.

Following this, Afyaplus attended the Iringa Region Annual NGO Forum, hosted at the Iringa Regional Commissioner’s meeting hall. The event, graced by the Iringa Region Commissioner, Hon. Peter Joseph Serukamba, continued the conversation around good governance, with a focus on collaboration and innovation. NGOs, government representatives, and stakeholders exchanged insights on how the sector can contribute to long-term governance strategies that benefit communities across the region.

These forums were not only platforms for dialogue but also opportunities to network, share best practices, and explore innovative solutions. The discussions revolved around key issues such as resource mobilization, capacity building, and sustainable program implementation, all within the context of ensuring that NGOs play a pivotal role in enhancing governance structures.

Afyaplus remains committed to leveraging these opportunities to further our mission of improving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services, health education, and community empowerment. As the organization continues to grow, these forums serve as valuable touchpoints for strengthening our efforts in promoting effective governance and driving community development.

Moving Forward:
The insights gained and the connections made during these forums will undoubtedly influence Afyaplus’ strategies moving forward. As we continue to collaborate with other stakeholders, we aim to champion the causes that matter most to the communities.
