Afyaplus had the privilege of participating in the Career Youth Link Forum, organized by Don Bosco Youth Centre – Iringa, on Friday, 18 September 2026. The forum brought together youth-focused stakeholders to discuss opportunities for strengthening youth empowerment, career development, partnerships and linkages.

The forum provided an important platform for stakeholders to share experiences, identify areas of collaboration and explore how existing youth platforms can be used to create meaningful opportunities for young people. For Afyaplus, the engagement was an opportunity to explore how the Don Bosco Youth Centre platform can complement our work in supporting young people to develop skills, access opportunities and thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Strengthening Youth Empowerment Through Collaboration

As a youth-focused stakeholder, Afyaplus continues to support young people through different interventions that promote skills development, empowerment, access to opportunities and stronger community participation. The forum created space to reflect on how organizations can work together to respond to the changing needs of young people, particularly in the era of digital transformation.

Don Bosco Youth Centre – Iringa provides a platform for youth engagement and development, while the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre supports young people through technical and vocational training. These platforms create opportunities for stakeholders to connect with young people around skills, learning and career development.

Partnerships create pathways.
Bringing youth-focused organizations, training institutions and other stakeholders together can help connect skills with opportunities, strengthen career linkages and create practical pathways for young people to grow.

Creating Career Linkages and Partnerships

A key part of the forum was the opportunity to build connections among stakeholders working with and for young people. Career linkage forums are important because they provide opportunities to connect young people with organizations, training providers, employers, mentors and other relevant actors.

Through continued collaboration, Afyaplus sees opportunities to strengthen partnerships that support youth skills development, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, career guidance and access to opportunities. Such partnerships can contribute to an enabling environment where young people can apply their skills and participate meaningfully in community and economic development.
